Ableton Live - Midi Mapping for Superior Drummer
I'm programming drums in Ableton Live (I'm using Live 12) and was severely bothered, that I always see note names (e.g. C#2, A-1, G0 etc) instead of the actual part names of the drum kit (Reaper folks plz keep silent now ;-). One of the VSTis I'm using quite often is the famous Superior Drummer 3 from Toontrack. With Lives's built-in Midi Effect Racks it is possible to map midi notes to "chains" and name them individually.
This Midi Effect Rack for Superior Drummer implements the entire midi-note mapping as it is provided in the default Superior Drummer 3 library (add-on libraries for Superior- or EZ Drummer may change these settings, but common parts are usually mapped the same).
The exercise to map the entire key-range is for sure a no-fun type of work. Hence, I'm sharing it here for free (wouldn't mind to kick back a small "appreciation", but this is up2you :-)
Cheers,
